Description
Saint Nicholas Church in Bielsko-Biała at 16 Świętego Mikołaja Square, built in the period 1443-1447 founded by Wenzel I, Czech prince. The temple was consumed by fire and rebuilt several times between the 17th and the 19th century and, as a result, its style and character transformed. Its present form the church acquired in the early 20th century when it was extended westwards in line with the design of a Viennese architect Leopold Bauer. The new nave was then added with a steeple in the early modernism style with elements of Art Nouveau and neo-Romanesque. There are Art. Nouveau stained-glass windows designed by a Viennese artist Richard Harlfinger in the church.
