Description

Balneotherapy Spa at 1/3 Grunwaldzka Street in Sopot built in 1904 in the place of the former J.G. Haffner bathhouse. In 1903 the old building was demolished and, just within 8 months, a new building was erected supervised by a local architect Joseph Moschall. Heinrich Dunkel and Paul Puchmüller, graduates of the Berlin Building Academy and designers of numerous villas and public utility buildings in Sopot designed the building. Sculpture works done by Fenzlof included among others, decoration of the now destroyed northern portal as well as decoration above the main portal representing a siren, triton and the city coat of arms.
