The 18-month project started on August 1, 2005. The aim of the project was to prepare electronic copies of texts and images with the possibility of using them in higher education for distance learning, as well as in professional publishing houses and by Internet users. As part of the project, distance learning courses were also prepared, in which the prepared materials were used.
The aim of the project was to enable wide access to unique and mostly unpublished sources from various vendors, such as archives, libraries and photographic resources. The resources were available through websites with a multilingual interface, based on client / server technology. The system included a dynamic solution of marking documents with the use of proprietary marks with the possibility of using many categories of resolution, zooming of images. These technologies represented the latest solutions at that time, allowing the preservation of copyright protection of the available materials, high image quality with the best access to them.
