Council Programme of The European Evenings

To prepare the Evenings and select the speakers the Council Programme of European Evenings was appointed.

Council Programme Members:

  • Bogdan Major, councillor of Torun City - Chairman,

  • Dr Dominik Antonowicz, research worker at the Sociology Institute of Nicolaus Copernicus University,

  • Prof. Roman Backer, Director of Political Science Institute of Nicolaus Copernicus University,

  • Zdzisław Bociek, Geofizyka Torun,

  • Grzegorz Borek, Director of the European Centre of Youth Cooperation (ECWM),

  • Lucjan Broniewicz, Director of Planetarium of W. Dziewulski in Torun, (to the end of 2003),

  • Piotr Calbecki, Director of Development and European Projects Department of Town Office in Torun,

  • Zbigniew Derkowski, Director of Culture Centre, Artus Hall,

  • Krystyna Dowgiallo, councillor of Torun City,

  • prof. Marian Filar, manager of The Criminal Law and Criminal Policies Department of Nicolaus Copernicus University,

  • Michal Jakubaszek, student of Nicolaus Copernicus University,

  • Piotr Konstanty, President of the Association of Cooperation with Twin Towns of Torun (TWzMBT),

  • dr Janusz Kostrzak, Director of Duty Department (since 1998), research worker of History Institute Polish Academy of Sciences (1972-98), Charge d'Affaires RP in Tallinn (1992-94), consul general in Kaliningrad (1995-96),

  • Edward Maliszewski, deputy director of the Academic Medium and High School in Torun,

  • Priest Marek Ruminski, parish priest of St. Johns' Cathedral,

  • Maria Sliwinska, Director of the International Centre for Information Management Systems & Services,

  • Teresa Szymorowska, Director of the Nicolaus Copernicus Provincial and Municipal Library of Torun,

  • Edyta Urbanska, manager of the European Documentation Centre of Nicolaus Copernicus University Library,

  • Maria Winclawska, Ph.D. student of Nicolaus Copernicus University.

The Council Programme has met several times to establish and authorize suggested subjects for the European Evenings.
