COMPUTER CATALOGUES AND BIBLIOGRAPHIES
IN THE INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS

There is one computer catalogue available in the Institute of Physics. It contains all books from such branches like: and some books from the branches:

and from other branches all books acquired after 23rd March 1993. The data base contains over 16 thousand descriptions. This catalogue is available in the ISIS system. You can search it according to four indexes:

To search according to these indexes you use the option T in the main menu. For easier searching, the authors’ names are preceded by the apostrophe (‘), the publications titles are preceded by the dash (-), the call numbers by the tilde (~), but the keywords stand alone. In the indexes no diacritics are used. To find for example the publications concerning the Sun you should type "the Sun". More information about searching you can find in the Help available in the main menu.

Besides the catalogue there is also the Bibliography of Research Workers’ Publications available in the Institute of Physics. It works also on the ISIS system. You can find here the following indexes (preceded by special symbols):
author (a=), e.g. a=Kowalski
periodical title (c=), c=Physics
keywords (k=), k=biophysics
year of publication (r=), r=1996
title (t=), t=Sun
