CATALOGUES OF THE INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS LIBRARY

The Alphabetical Periodicals Catalogue in the Institute of Physics Library arranges by entries the catalogue cards with discriptions of periodicals, which are available in this library. Catalogue card gives you such information like: title of magazine, frequency, place and year of publication, volumes and numbers available in the library. The stamp “microfiche” means that you have to use the microfiche scanner when reading the magazine. Partial catalogue cards of serials give the title of periodical, bibliographic information about this publication and its classification code.

The Alphabetical Books Catalogue of the Institute of Physics Library contains publications published in XX century, and gives, besides bibliographic information about a document, its classification code, which refers you to the relevant section of the reading room. Information about symbols of individual sections is available in the reading room.

The Alphabetical Catalogue of Master’s Theses and Doctoral Dissertations covers the works written by students and research workers of the NCU Institute of Physics. The classification code does not indicate a department, it consists only of digits.

The Alphabetical Catalogue “Materials” describes documents in a few copies, doublets located in the section with the letter M.

The Aphabetical Catalogue “Preprints” describes the studies of the Institute of Physics research workers, which appeared as preprints. The catalogue card gives the author’s name, year of publication and inventory number.

The Catalogue “Photocopies” arranges alphabetically, by entries, the catalogue cards of publicatons photocopies within such sections like; S - spectroscopy, LG - gas luminescence. The list of sections and their symbols are available in the library reading room. Classification code within each section starts with a letter symbol of this section.

Subject Catalogue of the Institute of Physics library is arranged by sections. It contains catalogue cards with bibliographical descriptions of publications. The library holdings are divided into 27 sections provided with Roman numerals and capital letters e.g.
I.A. Handbuch. Physics dictionaries. Encyclopaedias.
I.B. Philosophical, historical books. Elementary physics. Popular-science books.
I.C.Physics handbooks.

Catalogue card gives classification code, which consist of a symbol of section and exact place, where publication can be found. Publications from the sections from I.A. to V.B. are available only in reading rooms and you can look for them on your own. Publications from the sections from VI. to XII. are in the Stock and when you want ot use them you have to declare it to a librarian.
